I am Bianca Marisse Garcia and I am an industrial designer based in the bay area.
I graduated from SJSU with a BA in Industrial Design, and I could not be more in love with it. What makes me unique is that I know how to design both physicaI and digital products. I wanted to make myself a part of the product development process as much as possible.
I am well versed in Solidworks and Keyshot, prototyping, and 3D printing. I have experience in 3D printing prototypes for hardware and consumer electronics using SLA, DLP, MJF, FDM, and Polyjet. As a UX/UI Designer, I design and prototype websites and apps on Figma and Adobe Xd. I have also learned some front-end web development through Skillshare and Coursera. Utilizing Visual Studio Code, HTML, and CSS I am able to build a website.
What I love about product design is that you have the liberty to think outside the box and potentially bring some of your ideas to life. The best part is that you get to watch other people try out what you make and you could make a huge impact with your products. As a little girl I always made crazy contraptions, and now here I am doing the same thing.
My Values
Good work takes time.
Whether I am doing industrial design or UX design work, I try to take as much time as necessary in order to give my best work. Creating the high quality design solutions takes a lot of ideation and exploring a lot of different directions. I like to look over my work again and again to catch little improvements that I can make.
Never stick with one direction.
In order to come up with the best design solutions, there will be a lot of trial and error. There needs to be a wide array of ideas, if you stick with one direction too early on, then you prevent yourself from discovering better solutions. In the ideation phase, my favorite part is sketching down all the solutions and picking which ones I like best.
Always think of the user.
Designing products, whether it be apps, websites, or tangible products, the good of the user is what we should never lose sight of. Aesthetics are important, but having the best user experience possible is how I determine success. When I design, I enjoy the user testing and feedback because it helps me improve my design.
